Simon

Pastor Tim & Judy Simon

Tim Simon and his wife Judy have lived in Sandy, Oregon since June, 1993. They have four adult children and seven grandchildren. He has served as elder at Church on the Mountain since January, 2011 and became the full time pastor February 1, 2012.

He agrees with John Piper that “God is most glorified in me, when I am most satisfied in Him”. And, by the grace of God and the power of the Holy Spirit, he is working to find his complete satisfaction in Christ.

Tim enjoys reading, studying scripture, listening to good sermons and playing music (guitar and electric bass). He also loves being part of the Church on the Mountain fellowship of believers who are working together “to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.” Ephesians 4:15-16 NASB

Whenever possible he and Judy spend time with their children and grandchildren and they love to get away occasionally by themselves to the beautiful Oregon Coast.

We live East of Sandy Oregon off highway 26

Dave’s favorite pastimes: Hiking & back packing, disc golf, target shooting, paragliding, oil painting, astronomy, looking at rocks & "flood debris".

Favorite vacation: In 2006, Lynn and I spent a month backpacking from Timberline Lodge to Crater Lake on the Pacific Crest Trail.

Favorite books of the Bible: Genesis, Proverbs, Philippians & James

My Life verse: Philippians 2: 3 - 4
Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

Personal statement: I believe the Bible is God’s Word and record of actual events "past, present & future" from Genesis to Revelation. I believe the earth is about 6,000 years old and all life outside of Noah’s ark was destroyed by a worldwide flood about 4,400 years ago.  I believe the physical evidence around us supports this fact.

I don’t want to believe in something just because it's been said a million times.
"Prove all things, hold fast to that which is good." 1 Thessalonians 5:21
